Geert Boosten has over 31 years of experience in the airport business. Following his studies in the Netherlands and four years working at a large publishing company, he started working at Schiphol Airport in 1988 (where he stayed until 1999). Working in various positions, Geert has gained experience and expertise in all aspects of airport (operations and commercial) management, business development, and strategy. As a director of corporate strategy, he was responsible for Schiphol’s master planning, long-term airport development (i.e. airport in the sea concept), and international development (i.e. strategic alliance with Vienna International Airport and acquisition of Brisbane’s international airport in Australia) as well as airport privatization, regulation of fees and charges, and new business development using ICT (including exploring cooperation with Brussels Airport). Geert is an all-round airport expert with special interest in airport strategy and development, positioning of the airport in the local community (optimizing the added value of the airport), and master planning.
As a consultant, Geert was involved in the strategy and/or masterplan development of Toronto International Airport (Canada), JFK Airport in New York (USA), Brisbane International Airport (Australia), Vienna International Airport (Austria), Brussels Airport BIAC (Belgium), Maastricht-Aachen Airport (Netherlands), Eindhoven Airport (Netherlands), Oostende-Bruges Airport (Belgium) , Airport of Kortrijk-Wevelgem (Belgium), Abidjan Airport (Ivory Coast), Lima Airport Partners (Peru), Rotterdam Airport and Bohol Airport, San Fernando Airport and Puerta Princessa Airport (Philippines), and the port of Rotterdam (Netherlands).
Geert has been a board member of two public/private founded Dutch centers of expertise in transport and infrastructure and networks/logistics and chains. As an aviation expert, he defined the curriculum of the Bachelor’s Honors Aviation Management course at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS) where he also lectures. Geert is currently the Director of the AUAS Aviation Academy (1500 students and 85 employees) and Professor of Aviation Management. The Aviation Management research unit focuses on applied research on aviation capacity optimization.
Dr. Tú Anh Trinh is a head of Planning Department and International Coordinator at Faculty of Civil Engineering, Ton Duc Thang university in Vietnam since 2014. She has built up the academic career as a lecturer at University of Transportation and Communication(2000-2006),a dean of Faculty of Airport in Vietnam Aviation (2007-2013), and a visiting lecturer at multiple universities during last 20 years, such as University Economic Hochiminh, Open University and Marketing University (2007-present). She is also a supervisor for master and Phd students at the international universities such as Trieste University, Hasselt University, Thammasat University, Handong Global University, etc.
She was a co-chair of the 1stInternational Conference on Sustainable Development Civil, Urban and Transportation Engineering (CUTE-2016), and key organizer and editor of the CUTE 2018. She has experienced as aspecialist andteam leader in varied local and international projects and researches. They related tourban and transportation planning, road safety, project management, transport economics, public transport, aviation operation and Social and Environment Impact Assessment (SEIA). She has published scientific papers on her fields in multiple journals and proceedings of academic conferences and press on for her academic excellence as an educator and researcher.
